SCHOTT Lighting & Imaging in Southbridge has completed a $750,000 renovation of its offices and another $2-million investment planned over the next two years.
The technology company unveiled its recent renovations to the community and lawmakers Wednesday, including U.S. Rep. Richard Neal (D-Springfield).
The planned $2-million in investments include improvements to its production capabilities and equipment to help streamline employee training. The equipment will more closely align to machines used in technical colleges and trade schools, the company said.
More than 30 employees were hired in the last year, but 23 positions remain open, said Robert Brisard, operations manager for SCHOTT Lighting and Imaging’s North American operations, which includes two Southbridge facilities.
“Demand for lighting and imaging components is strong, and growing,” Brisard said. “We’ve been part of the Southbridge community for more than 30 years and our investments show we’re here to stay.
