An affiliate of Imaginate Your Space, a designer and manufacturer specializing in upgrading school lunchrooms and other non-classroom areas, purchased a former auto body center in the Quinsigamond Village section of Worcester for $1.4 million.
Imaginate Your Space is based in Worcester and designs and installs 75-80 spaces a year around the eastern United States.
The company was founded by Tacey Martinek, a muralist with more than 2,000 murals to her name around the country. It was previously called Love Your Lunchroom, but Martinek changed the name as she expanded to school gyms, hallways, and other common areas.
The company grew during the COVID-19 epidemic as schools needed new graphics to communicate new guidelines like social distancing.
Martinek is expanding the company's offerings with a new brand, Punch Art Graphics, which manufactures wall decor and sells them across the country on Amazon and through office and school supply companies.
The property the company purchased at 130 Blackstone River Road consists of two buildings approximately 6,000 and 12,000 square feet and features outdoor storage area on its 1.9 acres, according to Principal Will Kelleher of Kelleher & Sadowsky Associates, who brokered the sale along with Vice President Andrew Sherman.
It is the former site of Foley’s Collision Center, which was owned by Christopher Foley of Shrewsbury before he passed away from cancer in 2017.
The property was sold by Thomwalt Holdings, LLC of Mendon, which last purchased the property from Foley’s Properties LLC of Worcester in 2020 for $1.1 million, according to the Worcester District Registry of Deeds.
