Schilling's Firm Signs RI Lease

38 Studios, the video game company founded in Maynard by former Red Sox hurler Curt Schilling, has inked a lease in Providence.

The company said it expects to create 450 jobs after the move to its new Rhode Island headquarters.

The company will be located at One Empire Plaza in downtown Providence, which is a 104,000-square-foot, six-story office building. The company did not say how much space it would be leasing or how many employees it is moving to Rhode Island.

Compary spokesperson Denise Kaigler also did not say if the company would keep any operations in Massachusetts. 38 Studios also has an office in Baltimore.

The company is reportedly in negotiations to sign a state loan guarantee worth up to $75 million to move to Rhode Island.
