SBA Loans For Irene Victims

The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering federal economic injury disaster loans to Massachusetts small businesses, nonprofits and agricultural organizations hurt by Tropical Storm Irene.

The Economic Injury Disaster Loan program provides loans of up to $2 million, with interest rates of 3 percent for nonprofits and 4 percent for small businesses. The loans can be used to pay debt, payroll, accounts payable and other bills that were not paid because of the disaster.

Affected organizations can apply at the SBA's website.
