For the first year, the U.S. Small Business Administration brought its Emerging Leaders program to Worcester, the agency announced Tuesday.
The program began in Boston as a pilot program and it has been held in Boston for the past 10 years.
“This year we wanted to bring the framework to Worcester and the central portion of the state, to support the thriving small business community with more education, mentoring and access to resources to grow,” District Director Robert Nelson said in a statement.
This year, 19 Worcester-area small businesses were enrolled in the program, which included free entrepreneurship education, executive training, and nearly 100 hours of classroom time.
