Theresa Colognesi, vice president of human resources at Savers Bank, was elected this week as chairman of the board of directors for Southbridge-based Harrington HealthCare System.
The system includes two hospitals and facilities in Southbridge, Webster and Charlton.
Colognesi replaced outgoing chairman Ronald Carlson, CFO of Hyde Tools in Southbridge.
Harrington said it has doubled attendance at its community outreach events in the past year, reduced emergency room wait times this year to 28.7 minutes from 51.6 minutes in early 2010, and elected more Hispanic members to its 53-person trustee board to better reflect the demographics of the area it serves.
