SanDisk will open a new 60,000-square-foot research and development facility in Marlborough on Thursday with a ceremony featuring the company’s co-founder and local officials.
 The site at Solomon Pond Office Park contains 15,000 square feet of laboratory facilities. The company, based in Milpitas, Calif., invested $14.5 million to lease and upgrade the building at 200 Donald Lynch Blvd.
Thursday’s ceremony will be hosted by company co-founder, president and CEO Sanjay Mehrotra, along with other company executives. City and state officials, including Mayor Arthur Vigeant, are also expected to be in attendance.
