SALMON Health and Retirement, which runs seven senior living communities, has promoted the medical director of one of its sites as its new chief medical officer.
Dr. Randall Morse was formerly SALMON's medical director and primary physician at Beaumont, one of the company's two Worcester facilities. He also sees patients at his outpatient geriatric clinic at UMass Memorial Medical Center's Memorial Campus and is an assistant professor of medicine at UMass Medical School.
During the coronavirus pandemic, Morse worked with SALMON's director of clinical services, Debbie Freedman, to develop virus-related processes to improve infection control practices and other needs. The Beaumont facility was temporarily converted into a facility specifically for coronavirus patients to help relieve capacity limits at UMass Memorial and other hospitals.
Morse is a graduate of St. Louis University School of Medicine and completed his residency and fellowship at UMass Medical School in Worcester.
The Westborough-based SALMON has two facilities in Worcester and others in Natick, Northborough, Northbridge, Sharon and Westborough. Another is slated to open in Medway this summer.
