New board members with strong Worcester connections have been added to the Saint Vincent Hospital Board of Trustees.
Jane E. June, current Dean of Healthcare at Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester, and Mary Tanona, the Associate General Counsel for the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences, joined the board of the Worcester hospital Jan. 1. The 16-person board is made up of business, religious and community leaders and physicians that help direct the hospital towards its goal of high-quality patient care.
Both new board members have strong connections to Worcester as well as the hospital. June graduated from the Saint Vincent School of nursing in 1972 and has been instrumental as a project leader on the design, plan, move, and implementation of the new $40 million QCC downtown campus, according to a release from Saint Vincent. Tanona was an attorney for Lane, Greene, Murtha & Edwards LLP in Worcester and served as a board member for the Worcester Public Library Foundation from 2009 to 2015.
Leaving the board are Catherine Loeffler, executive director of Catholic Charities, Charles Monahan, Jr., President of Mass. College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences and John Platt, MD Reliant Medical Group – Auburn. Replacing Dr. John Platt, will be Dr. Susan George, president of the medical staff at Saint Vincent.
