Jeffrey Thomas has been named as the new chief financial officer of the Massachusetts market of Tenet Healthcare, which includes Saint Vincent Hospital of Worcester and MetroWest Medical Center of Framingham and Natick.
Thomas will become Saint Vincent’s third non-interim CFO in five years. Tina Kovacs became interim CFO after John Whitlock held the position from 2021-2023 before becoming CEO of MetroWest Medical Center. Preceding Whitlock was Brendan Strong, who held the role from 2019 to 2021.
Thomas has more than 30 years in the healthcare finance industry, most recently serving as CFO of Missouri-based Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. He has held the same title in systems across Tennessee, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, and South Carolina, according to a Monday press release from Saint Vincent. He is a graduate of Youngstown State University in Ohio.
“I am excited to welcome Jeff to the Saint Vincent family. With his background and expertise, I am confident he will be successful in the strategic and tactical financial planning for Saint Vincent Hospital and MetroWest Medical Center,” Carolyn Jackson, CEO of Saint Vincent and Tenet’s Massachusetts market, said in the release. “We are pleased to have Jeff as a key member of our leadership team.”
