Saint John’s High School trustee and alumnus Dennis Crowley has committed $1 million to support the school’s Curriculum of Care in Support of Community Wellness priority of the private Shrewsbury boys-only high school’s strategic plan.
“I am grateful to Dennis for this transformational commitment to his alma mater,” Headmaster Alex Zequeira said in a Thursday press release from the school. “His generosity will support our mission and vision in the work we do here at Saint John’s every day, and also as we look to continuously adapt to best meet the needs of our students and community. ”
As part of its strategic plan, first shared in January, the school aims to assess and address the state of health and wellness among the Saint John’s community, including adults.
“As a Xaverian Brothers sponsored school, we are a community that does not stand still,” Zequeira said. “This plan will continue to position Saint John’s as a premier all-boys Catholic school with a storied past but an equally vibrant future serving boys and young men in our Community.”
Crowley graduated from Saint John’s in 1979. He is CEO and chairman of Florida-based PNC Capital Group, and president & CEO of Doctor’s Choice Pharmacy in Florida. He serves on the board of directors for nonprofit Make-A-Wish Southern Florida.
