The French multinational materials company Saint-Gobain has announced the expansion of its YouthBuild partnership internationally with the extension of a $600,000 grant and the building of a school.
The partnership with YouthBuild USA, Inc. by the organization, which has operations throughout Central Massachusetts, will support the creation of a YouthBuild school in South Africa in addition to the extension of the grant for three years, according to a release by Saint-Gobain.
The grant will support YouthBuild USA’s Green Initiative Program, a sustainable building and job training program for disadvantaged youth, as well as programs in Worcester, Philadelphia, Pa., Schenectady, N.Y., and Canton, Ohio.
This brings the total funding donated to YouthBuild USA, Inc. from Saint-Gobain to $1.3 million over the course of seven years – from 2010 through 2017.
