French manufacturing company Saint-Gobain, which has major operations in Worcester and other parts of Central Massachusetts, said it has acquired a Minnesota-based maker of electrochromic glass.
SAGE Electrochromics Inc. will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Saint-Gobain, but will continue to market its products under the name SageGlass.
Electrochromic glass changes from a clear state to a tinted state, eliminating daytime glare and reducing energy consumed by air conditioning, heating and lighting, the company said.
