RXi Pharmaceuticals announced it will officially open its new office and laboratory in the Marlborough Technology Center on July 9.
The company will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. to mark the debut of the new facility. Formerly of Westborough, RXi signed a 7,500 square-foot lease of its new Marlborough space on Simarano Drive in December before moving in April, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The company will pay nearly $108,000 for the space in its first year.
“The company’s recent move to Marlborough has allowed us to centralize our employee base,” RXi CEO Geert Cauwenbergh said in a statement. “In addition, this facility allows for future growth considerations as we advance our pre-clinical and clinical programs.”
RXi is seeking federal approval of a post-surgical, anti-scarring drug, and has formed two franchises focused on dermatology and ophthalmology applications since it was founded in 2011.
