RXi Pharmaceuticals Corp. of Worcester bas appointed Richard Chin, CEO of the nonprofit pharmaceutical company Institute for OneWorld Health, to its board of directors.
Chin, a physician, has worked in a variety of drug development companies. Before moving to OneWorld health, he was president and CEO of OXiGENE, which develops vascular drugs for oncology and ophthalmology, and he has also held management positions at Elan Corp., Genentech Inc. and Procter & Gamble Pharmaceuticals.
Over his career, Chin has started 40 new drug programs and brought eight new drugs to market. He has a bachelor's in biology from Harvard University, a medical degree from Harvard Medical School and a law degree from Oxford University, which he attended on a Rhodes Scholarship.
