Rutland food processor penalized $21K over air permits

The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection announced Tuesday it has assessed a $21,410 penalty against Rutland AD for violating air pollution regulations at its Jordan Farms Organics Recyclery.

The penalty of the 51 Muschopauge Road facility in Rutland stemmed from a May inspection that found the company failed to obtain an air quality plan approval prior to installing a new engine generator, three receiving tanks, and a biofilter.

Rutland AD agreed to comply with the regulations moving forward and pay the penalty, with up to $2,141 being forgiven if the company fulfills all the requirements of the agreement.
