Fitchburg-based Rollstone Bank & Trust elected Brian Anderson as chairman of its board of directors.
Anderson has served on the board for more than 15 years, starting in 2006, according to a Wednesday press release. He graduated from Becker College in Worcester, and he owns and operates Anderson Funeral Homes in Ayer, Fitchburg, and Townsend.
Anderson succeeds previous chairman Anthony J. Mercadante, who will remain on the board.
“Brian will play an important role in ensuring that values and policies of Rollstone stay in place, both internally and externally. His extensive background and dedication to the community aligns with the goals and values of Rollstone, and his business savvy will provide us solid leadership. We look forward to working with Brian as chairman of Rollstone Bank & Trust, and are equally grateful that Tony Mercadante will remain an integral part of the Board of Directors,” Rollstone President and CEO Martin Connors said in the press release.
Rollstone has 103 employees across eight branches in Central Massachusetts. The bank had $722 million in local deposits as of June 30, 2021, according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.
