Northbridge wire-mesh manufacturer Riverdale Mills will find out within the next week if its proposal will be a finalist to build President Donald Trump’s border wall at the Mexico.
Riverdale is one of 251 companies listed as interested vendors for the proposed wall. U.S. Customs and Border Protection has broken those vendors into two categories: concrete wall and walls made from other materials.
CBP on Thursday announced four finalists for concrete prototypes and said the office would make a decision of finalists to build prototypes of a wall made of other materials within the next week. CBP had solicited proposals back in March, and the prototypes will be built in the fall.
The four concrete finalists were from Alabama, Arizona, Texas and Mississippi.
Riverdale Vice President Larry Walsh said the company hasn’t heard anything from the government on the company’s proposal but is hopeful to be chosen either directly or as a supplier to whoever is chosen.
Perini Management Services of Framingham and Titan Construction of Milford were also listed as interested vendors.
