A Rite Aid store in Clinton is one of three such locations in Massachusetts and 258 sites in 15 states nationwide where the public can stop by for coronavirus screening and testing.

The store, at 1031 Main St., joins others in Fall River and Revere. The Clinton location and others are opening Thursday as the pharmacy chain works to expand the number of sites where it's offering the service.

The testing is available free to anyone 18 or older, Rite Aid said. It is not intended for people experiencing severe symptoms such as severe cough, severe shortness of breath, severe fever, or other concerning symptoms who may need more immediate medical care.

Because of high volume, test results may take longer than the typical two to seven days to return, Rite Aid said.
