Rhode Island-based Magna Hospitality Group has purchased the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Boston-Westborough for $15 million.
The 225-room hotel at 5400 Computer Drive was sold on Friday to Westdrive VII LLC, according to the Worcester District Registry of Deeds. Westdrive VII is registered to Magna founder Robert Indeglia at the company’s East Warwick address, according to the data from the Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth website.
The $15-million sale price is strictly what the property containing the hotel was sold for and doesn’t necessarily include the price of buying the business.
The hotel was last purchased by WCP Computer Drive LLC of Chicago for $28 million in 2015. WCP Computer Drive is registered to Matt Mering, executive vice president for hospitality at Chicago real estate investment company Waterton Associates. The company was known as Ultima Hospitality in 2015.
The hotel was ranked sixth in 2022 by the WBJ Research Department among the largest Central Massachusetts hotels by number of guest rooms. It was ranked ninth for largest meeting facilities. It has 17 meeting rooms with a maximum capacity of 650 people in a banquet setting.
Magna Hospitality was founded in 1998 and has owned and operated hotels across the United States and Canada. The company did not respond to a request for comment.
