Retail Sales Rebound

First-quarter nationwide retail and food sales were up 8 percent compared to last year's pace, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
February sales were up 7 percent from last year. Month over month, overall February sales were up 0.4 percent.
Gasoline showed the highest jump in annual sales, up more than 16 percent from February 2010 figures.
Department stores showed a slight dip of about 3 percent in sales through the first quarter of the year compared to 2010.
