Maury’s Deli on Main Street in Worcester will close for good on Oct. 16 after 74 years in business, according to a social media post from someone claiming to be a representative of the owners.

Maurice “Maury” Goldstein opened the sandwich shop in 1947. In recent years, the deli was co-owned by brothers Bob and Rick Lawrence of Hull, but Rick passed away in December, according to an obituary in the Hull Times.

The business is currently for sale, per the Facebook post signed by the Lawrence Family, which was posted by Tmoethay James, who says he is representing the family.

Calls to the deli on Thursday morning were not immediately answered.

The roughly 7,900-square-foot restaurant in Webster Square was built in 1910.
