Rentschler Biopharma, a global contract development and manufacturing organization with offices in Milford and in Germany, has hired four senior level biopharmaceutical executives as part of an ongoing strategy to strengthen the firm’s leadership team, according to a Thursday announcement.
The Milford facility is part of the firm's effort to produce mRNA vaccines used to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. The additions to the executive team are designed to meet the rising global demand for complex biopharmaceuticals, the firm said.
Dr. Günter Stempfer was hired as head of global strategic development. In this newly created position, he will evaluate, define, and drive strategic initiatives across all of the company’s sites. Stempfer has been in the industry for 25 years and previously held leadership positions at Polpharma Biologics and Novartis Pharma, both located in Poland.
Christiane Bardroff will serve as Rentschler Biopharma’s senior vice president client program management. Bardroff gained organizational experience at the German-based firmsTeva Biotech and Roche Penzberg.
After three years of working in the department that Bardroff will now lead, Dr. Christian Hunzinger has moved to the newly created position of vice president analytical science.
Elke Ottenschläger joined the company as its new senior vice president of clinical and commercial manufacturing. Previously she served as head of global technical functions and head of global tech transfer for Swiss biotechnology company Lonza.
