Rentschler Biopharma, a German contract development and manufacturing company with a growing presence in Milford, has added two newly created senior-level positions to its leadership team.
Sabine Sydow joined the company as its first chief of staff. Sydow’s job will serve as an advisor connecting the executive board with the rest of the company. Sydow has corporate and science experience, earning a Ph.D. in biology from the Georg August University in Goettingen, and spending 16 years with a biotechnology interest group within the German Association of Research-Based Pharmaceutical Companies. Prior to that she was the director business management and communication, global oncology for Schering AG of Berlin, Germany.
Falk Nuernberger has been named as corporate general counsel, advising management on all legal matters. Previously, he worked for several years as general counsel Europe and as a member of the European management team of the Pennsylvania-based pharmaceutical company Viatris.
Both Sydow and Nuernberger joined Rentschler Biopharma on July 1, according to the Wednesday announcement from the company.
“I am very pleased to welcome Sabine and Falk to Rentschler Biopharma. With their in-depth knowledge of our industry and their professionalism and sound judgment, we are gaining two very valuable senior team members,” Frank Mathias, CEO of Rentschler Biopharma, said in the press release.
Rentschler Biopharma founded its U.S. branch in 2005 and in 2019 acquired a manufacturing site in Milford. In 2021, the company broke ground on a 22,000-square-foot bioreactors facility in Milford.
