Improvements to the Knowledge Park office complex in Marlborough have attracted 16 companies to lease 62,000 square feet there, according to the site owner.
CB Equities, which is based in Wakefield, bought the 160,000-square-foot office complex just off where Route 20 and I-495 last October for $8.6 million. It upgraded common areas in all three office buildings, installed new glass entryways, added a fitness center, a video conferencing room and an outdoor patio, and rebranded the complex formerly known as the Mount Royal Office Park. The company will install a bar for coffee, beer and wine.
CB Equities' broker for the sale, the Wayland real estate firm R.W. Holmes, announced the new leases Thursday but did not name the new companies. They include health, software, human relations, technology, legal and recruiting companies, the firm said.
In April, CB Equities announced it signed three new leases with the commercial janitorial company SCS Building Maintenance, national temp labor recruiting firm Operica and energy consulting company Colonial Power Group. John Conley is listed as the principal behind CB Equities, according to Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth records.
