RE/MAX Sees Steady New England Housing Market

Real estate firm RE/MAX’s annual New England Housing Market Outlook Report predicts neither big drops nor big gains in the real estate market over the next few years.

The report said home sales were slow in 2011, but prices for most New England states fell far less than the national average of 2.1 percent. The median price for a single-family home fell 0.4 percent from 2010 to 2011. Maine saw the smallest decrease, 1.8 percent, and New Hampshire fared the worst in the region, with a 4.1 percent decline.
