ReMax: N.E. home sales declined in January
Home sales throughout New England fell 3 percent in January over the same month in 2014, ReMax of New England said Thursday.
But in Massachusetts, the slowdown was sharper, with a decrease of 6.1 percent.
Pending home sales in New England were up 9.4 percent over January 2014, but down 2.3 percent compared with pending sales in December 2014. For Massachusetts, though, pending sales were down 1.3 percent in January 2015 compared with January 2014.
However, while median sale prices were flat in New England as a whole, they were up 3.2 percent in Massachusetts, the report said.
Throughout New England, homes changed hands a bit faster, staying on the market an average of two fewer days in January 2015 than a year earlier, ReMax said.
