Reliant Medical Group has bought a four-story office building next to the Greendale Mall in Worcester for $10.25 million.
The medical group, which has more than 320,000 patients, bought the building as it looks to redraw its footprint. Many of the Worcester nonprofit's leases are due to expire in May 2019, said Linda Coccola, Reliant’s chief communications officer, on Tuesday.
Existing Worcester Reliant offices may eventually move into the new site, but not until late 2018, and patients will be given plenty of notice of the pending move, Coccola said.
Reliant is close to finalizing a purchase of a property in Leominster, Coccola said.
That office building at 5 Neposet St. in Worcester has more than 120,000 square feet of space. It is now leased by Babcock Power, an energy and environmental services company, and will become among the largest sites for Reliant.
The property was last assessed by the city at more than $11 million. Its most recent owner was listed as Mayflower Greendale Riley LP.
Reliant Medical Group has more than 500 providers after merging in 2015 with Southboro Medical Group.
