The hematology, oncology and chemotherapy division of Reliant Medical Group has relocated to Saint Vincent Hospital's new cancer and wellness center in downtown Worcester.
The state-of-the-art facility at One Eaton Place is part of the CitySquare development and Reliant's third-floor space accounts for about 7,000 square feet of the building's 65,000 square feet.
"Undergoing cancer treatment can take a big physical and emotional toll on a person, and we took that into consideration when designing our new offices," said Charles Brown, director of medical specialties at Reliant. "Even the new chemotherapy areas are filled with natural light and feature simple, yet comforting elements like heated blankets and chairs, and televisions and iPads for entertainment while a patient undergoes treatment."
Before the move, Reliant's cancer services had been offered at Saint Vincent Hospital for more than 10 years.
In addition to seeing doctors for regular appointments and cancer treatments, patients also have access to support services including nutritional counseling, wellness programs and social services.
According to Reliant, St. Vincent will add more services, including a rehabilitation center, an integrated breast wellness center and café focusing on nutrition for cancer patients.
