The Reliant Medical Group has named Dr. Tarek Elsawy as the organization’s new president and CEO, the medical group announced Monday.
Dr. Elsawy will take over in early 2016 from Acting CEO Dr. Leon Josephs who has been serving as Reliant’s Acting CEO since January 2015 and will return full-time to his surgical practice at Reliant.
Dr. Elsawy is currently the Vice President of Regional Medical Operations & Affairs for Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH. In that role, he is directly responsibility for eighteen family health centers, as well as a leadership role in the operation of eight hospitals, representing 12,000 employees and $2.9 billion in revenue. Prior to his executive career, Dr. Elsawy spent 10 years in private practice.
Reliant Medical Group is the largest independent, ambulatory integrated health system in the Central Massachusetts and MetroWest Regions with over 500 providers and approximately 2,500 employees across more than 25 locations,
