Region Gets $4.3M For Worker Training

The region's workforce training programs will get $4.3 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds, according to state Secretary of Labor and Workforce Development Suzanne Bump.

Bump was at the Workforce Central Career Center in Worcester today to make the announcement after visiting training classes for unemployed workers at the center.

The federal stimulus funding will be used by the Central Massachusetts Regional Employment Board's Worcester, Milford and Southbridge offices for job training for the unemployed, as well as low-income youths and adults.

The three offices cover about 40 towns in southern Worcester County.
