Worcester heavy machinery manufacturer Reed Machinery Inc. has entered into an agreement with Italian machining company Carlo Salvi S.p.A to sell Salvi cold forming machines in North America, the company said today.
The agreement will allow Reed to sell a modern and advanced line of cold forming machines, while also providing Carlo Salvi a chance at greater market penetration. The Carlo Salvi line of products will replace Reed’s own Waterbury brand of heading machines, though Waterbury spare parts and service will still be available.
Spare parts for the Carlo Salvi line will continue to be manufactured and shipped from Salvi’s U.S. headquarters in Ohio.
