Rectrix Aviation suspends commercial flights

Rectrix Aviation, which flew seasonal commercial flights from Worcester Regional Airport to Hyannis starting in 2017, has suspended its commuter shuttle service, according to an announcement on its website.

The last Rectrix shuttle flight was Sunday.

In Februrary, Rectrix was acquired by Ross Aviation in Denver. Rectrix kept its brand after the acquisition and continued to operate out of Worcester Regional Airport, as it had since 2015 when the company built a $5-million, 20,000-square-foot hangar for its fleet.

A spokesman at Ross Aviation declined to comment.

In the announcement on the Rectrix website, the company said its aircraft used for the shuttle service -- King Air 300 series -- will be made part of its charter operations fleet.

"We humbly thank the community we have had the privilege to serve on our airline," the website said. "We truly hope to one day serve the Cape, Islands and metro NY area once again in the very near future."

In addition to Worcester, Rectrix has operations in Bedford, Westfield, Hyannis and Sarasota, Fla.
