Once again, Central Massachusetts residents can catch a half-an-hour shuttle flight to hit the beaches on Cape Cod, albeit with one fewer flight.
Rectrix Aviation, which built its facility at Worcester Regional Airport in 2015, announced its 2018 schedule Friday, which includes three days of flights in the early evening from Worcester to Hyannis.
A Monday flight, which was offered last year, is left off of this summer’s schedule.
Flights depart Worcester at 8:05 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 8 p.m. on Sunday. Return trips are at 7:15 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 7 p.m. on Sunday.
One-way flights are currently going for $99.
Last year, the first iteration of the Worcester-Hyannis shuttle, Thursday and Friday flights began between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
In a statement, Rectrix CEO Richard Cawley said the new departure times were designed for the working professional in Central Massachusetts.
“The schedule allows them to leave work, quickly pack up, and make an easy departure from Worcester Regional Airport,” he said. “It’s great to be able to link together these two regions of our state with this air route, and we are looking forward to future expanded service in Worcester.”
The aircraft is the nine-seat Beech Super King Air B300 turbo-props, commanded by two pilots every flight.
