Recovery Centers of America at Westminster has named Amanda Pitts as its new CEO.
“I’m excited to join Recovery Centers of America, which is known for providing superior addiction treatment, delivered by a team of expert professionals. I’m confident that my track record of success in behavioral health and addiction treatment leadership will serve me well in my new role,” said Pitts in a Monday press release from the center.
Pitts was most recently executive director at The Coleman Institute For Addiction Medicine in Wellesley. Prior to that, she held positions at HMEA, a service provider for people with disabilities in Franklin, and Spectrum Health Systems in Westborough, which provides addiction and behavioral health treatment.
“Amanda brings tremendous experience to Recovery Centers of America,” Jameson Pinette, the regional vice president of Recovery Centers of America, said in the press release. “She is a dynamic leader with a depth of experience in healthcare, including mental health and addiction treatment in both residential and community settings. Her ability to manage cross functional teams and communicate effectively to staff, patients, and families will prove beneficial as she leads the team in Westminster.”
The CEO role was previously held by Kat Stevens, who left the position in March to found a healthcare executive consulting firm, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Pitts earned a bachelor’s degree in social psychology and a master’s degree in applied sociology from UMass Boston. She is certified in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy and holds a license as an alcohol and drug counselor 1.
Recovery Centers of America has 10 inpatient alcohol and drug addiction treatment locations across the country. Westminster and Danvers are the two in Massachusetts.
