A 19-year veteran of substance abuse treatment is joining Westminster-based Recovery Centers of America as the chief medical officer at its Westminster and Danvers facilities.
Heidi Ginter has worked in the addiction treatment field since 2000 and is a prominent voice in medication-assisted treatment, having lectured extensively on opioid dependency and how other medicines can help fight the disease, RCA said in a Thursday announcement.
Ginter will oversee all medical treatment at RCA’s alcohol and drug addiction facilities in Massachusetts.
Most recently Ginter was the regional medical director and chief medical officer for Health Care Resource Centers in Peabody. Her work includes eight years as a physician with Worcester-based Spectrum Health Systems.
Ginter holds degrees from Yale University and the University of Maryland School of Medicine and is an assistant professor of family medicine at UMass Medical School in Worcester.
