Boston-based Bristol Recording and Voice Studios announced the opening of a Worcester location.
The studio offers vocal coaching and music career development in pop, rock, gospel, R&B, jazz and blues through the Bristol Artist Development Program.
Shrewsbury native Patrice Peris is leading Bristol Studios – MetroWest as its director. Peris is a pop and R&B singer, vocal instructor and artist development coach who began her career as a student at Bristol Studios. She has performed at venues such as Gillette Stadium, DCU Center, TD Garden and Hard Rock Cafe-Boston, according to Bristol Studios. Her songs have been on the radio in Italy, Ireland and on Boston’s KISS 108, the studio said. Five of Peris’ student went on to compete on NBC singing competition show “The Voice.”
“My goal is to help artists in the area achieve their goals with music and make their dreams a reality as I have been able to do,” Peris said. “With the rising demand for pop music, it is just the right time to bring back to the area what I had been searching for but was unable to find.”
Bristol Studios teaches techniques used by today’s popular singers through the Bristol Vocal Method, developed by studio owner Ric Poulin. Poulin has been a vocal coach for more than 30 years. According to a statement from the studio, he and the studio have collaborated with The Dropkick Murphy and New Kids on the Block, among other performers.
Bristol Studios – MetroWest is at 5 Pleasant St. in Worcester.
