A professional recording studio, which has done work with major Hollywood stars and productions, is establishing its headquarters in Millbury, following its $315,000 purchase of a property of a small commercial building off of Route 122A.

Previously operating from leased space in Millbury, Mixed by Toch purchased the property at 234 Main St. in Millbury from Millbury-based TPR Homes LLC in a deal finalized on Wednesday, according to Worcester District Registry of Deeds records.

A 0.2-acre plot of land containing a 1,732-square-foot brick building, the property was previously home to Miles Builders and The Miles Agency Real Estate.

Mixed by Toch provides services including vocal recording, voiceovers, automated dialogue replacement, audiobook production, and online mixing-and-mastering services. Mixed by Toch has been involved in audio mixing for major Hollywood films and has worked with clients like actor Matthew McConaughey and rapper Wyclef Jean, according to its website. The business was founded by Alejandro "Toch" Fontanez.

“We’re thrilled to see this property repurposed in a way that enhances the local business landscape,” Jeff Borus, senior vice president at NAI Glickman Kovago & Jacobs in Worcester, said in a Jan. 7 press release. “Its prime location and high visibility positions Mixed by Toch, Inc. for sustained growth, enabling them to meet the rising demand for top-tier audio production services and further cement their reputation in the industry.”

Borus represented the seller in this transaction, while Edwin Hernandez of Rose Real Estate Consulting in Worcester represented the buyer.

Eric Casey is the managing editor at Worcester Business Journal, who primarily covers the manufacturing and real estate industries.
