Record Revenues For World Energy Solutions
World Energy Solutions Inc. of Worcester saw record revenues of $12.4 million in 2008.
The company, which operates online exchanges for energy and green commodities, raised its annual revenue 35 percent from 2007's $9.2 million. It also reduced its net loss to $6.8 million from $8.6 million in 2007.
During the year, World Energy ran the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiatives' first two compliance auctions for CO2 allowances. It also increased its total backlog 57 percent to $19 million.
For the fourth quarter, the company had revenues of $3.3 million and a net loss of $1 million. For the same quarter in 2007, revenues were $3.1 million and the net loss was $5.2 million.
