EMC, the Hopkinton-based data storage giant, kicked off the first quarter of 2011 with revenues increasing 18 percent from last year to $4.6 billion, another record for the company.
Quarterly profits for the company rose to $477 million, a 28-percent increase compared to last year.
Revenues from domestic sales rose 12 percent to $2.4 billion, but much of the company’s growth came from international sales.
Asia Pacific and Japanese sales were up 43 percent to a new quarterly record for the company, while European sales grew 21 percent.
