The Massachusetts Association of Realtors‘ Realtor Market Index slipped below a neutral score of 50 to 39.49 in May after hitting 51.76 in April.
Despite the 24 percent drop, May’s score is still better than the 33.19 registered in May 2009.
In the survey used to compile the index, 59 percent of MAR members said sales activity had “somewhat decreased.” Another 20 percent said activity had “significantly decreased.”
Just 10 percent said activity had “somewhat increased.”
