The confidence of Massachusetts realtors in the state’s housing market was strong through the end of 2015, largely due to continued growth in sales numbers, according to the Massachusetts Association of Realtors (MAR).
The year-end realtor confidence index for realtors in the Bay State ended the year at 68.2 out of 100, which represented a 14 percent growth over 2014.
The outlook on pricing remained stagnant compared to the previous year, hovering just below 74 points, but still represents a strong outlook. This is due in large part to continued high prices of real estate throughout the state, according to 2016 MAR President Annie Blatz.
The survey also found that buyers and sellers were not dissuaded by the increase in the Federal Reserve short-term interest rates. Over 68 percent of the surveyed realtors said that their clients were either neutral or expressed no concern with the rates, with 27 reporting that clients were somewhat negative about them and four percent reporting that their clients had strong negative reactions to the rates.
