Two real estate market index reports compiled by the Massachusetts Association of Realtors rose last month on both a year-over-year and month-over-month basis, marking the first time that’s happened since April 2010.
The Realtor Market Index, which measurers the strength of the real estate market , recorded a 25.88 score among Realtors last month, a few points higher than the score from the same month in 2010 and up from 21.63 in September. A score of 100 is a “strong” market while 0 indicates a “weak” market.
The Realtor Price Index rose 2 percent to 43.75 last month compared to September. That figure is up from 37.38 last year.
One-third of Realtors reported seeing an increase in activity among buyers who are under 30 years old.
