Central Massachusetts nonprofit RCAP Solutions is relocating its headquarters from the Shrewsbury Street area to the former Reliant Medical Group site on May Street in Worcester as the organization looks to expand services.
In a press release, the organization said the relocation is part of a strategic plan to expand services and satisfy an increasing demand for improved community assistance.
The relocation includes the consolidation of several New England offices and the relocation of the Gardner office to the new Worcester headquarters.
The new headquarters will serve as the home of the Worcester County Housing Consumer Education Center to provide homelessness prevention and counseling services and manage more than 360 affordable apartments for families, the elderly and disabled and other financial wellness programs and services.
Worcester is now the northeast office of the national RCAP program, which is based in Washington, D.C.
The new office offers 21,000 square feet, nearly double the previous combined space totaling 12,000 square feet. The new space allows for expanded intake areas, enhanced classroom and meeting space and computer terminals for clients to access information and services.
The organization is leasing the space from Worcester-based property managers Chacharone Properties.
