Waltham-based Raytheon Co. has agreed to acquire BBN Technologies, a defense-focused research and development firm based in Cambridge.
The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter and is not likely to affect Raytheon’s revenue or earnings per share during that quarter, the company said.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
BBN’s products include advanced networking, speech and language technology, information technology, sensor systems, and cyber-security systems.
When the acquisition is closed, BBN will become part of Raytheon Network Centric Systems, which is based in Texas.
