Forbes has named Raytheon Co. as the best managed aerospace and defense company in its 10th annual survey of the 400 best big companies.
Forbes chose Raytheon, which is based in Waltham with significant operations in Central Massachusetts, for its improved financial performance, debt reduction and strong growth in several areas.
Raytheon had sales of $20.3 billion in 2006 and employs 73,000 people worldwide.
