When it comes to services offered for coronavirus patients, Massachusetts has beaten out every other state, according to a review by the consumer website WalletHub.
Massachusetts ranked first when WalletHub considered 17 factors, including whether the state will offer a free coronavirus vaccine once one exists, whether it has adopted long-distance healthcare technology, relief funds per capita, population with health insurance, and the share of households in poverty receiving social assistance.
In addition to claiming the first overall spot, Massachusetts ranked first for coronavirus relief and medical services, second for food and housing assistance, and third for unemployment support. No other state came close in being as generous and ranking so high in each of those three categories, which each comprise a series of factors WalletHub considered.
The District of Columbia ranked second, followed by Rhode Island, Maine and North Dakota. North Carolina was worst, followed by Mississippi, Arizona, Georgia and South Carolina.
