Framingham-based engineering software provider and consultant Rand Worldwide Inc. announced it has acquired assets of a Virginia-based firm that it hopes will boost businesses among its architecture, engineering and construction clients.
Rand, which trades on the OTC Bulletin Board, acquired computational fluid dynamics analysis consulting and thermal simulation services from Informative Design Partners, based in Charlottesville, Va.
The company did not disclose financial details about the deal.
For the first nine months of Rand’s fiscal 2012 cycle, the company’s revenue was $66.7 million, up from $65.9 over the same period in 2011, according to public filings. Profits were up sharply to $3 million over that period, compared to $1.1 million a year ago.
