The Worcester Railers have named the executive director of Discover Central Massachusetts, Stephanie Ramey, as their new president, the team announced Tuesday.
Michael Myers, who had been the team's president since its inception four years ago, is now the COO.
Ramey has been the head of the area's Worcester-based tourism agency since 2018, when she was promoted from corporate and events sales manager to succeed Christina Andreoli, who is now a senior vice president for private banking for Berkshire Bank. Ramey's area involvement has included the city's Economic Development Coordinating Council and the Worcester Cultural Coalition.
Ramey, a Worcester native and Worcester State University graduate, said in a statement she looks forward to developing new promotions and connecting with businesses throughout the region for the team. She will join the Railers on May 11 with more than 15 years of sales, marketing and business experience.
Myers, who played goalie for Assumption College's hockey team in Worcester, will become the team's chief operating officer, where he will be responsible for all aspects of hockey operations, ticket sales, game day operations, and oversee the Railers HC Foundation, which has donated more than $1 million to local organizations. Myers was a finalist for executive of the year in 2018 and '19 for the ECHL, the league the Railers play in.
