Quest Diagnostics, a provider of diagnostic information services, has acquired the lab services of Boston Clinical Laboratories of Waltham.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
BCL’s patients and providers now have access to Quest and its broader range of diagnostic services, a larger network of patient service centers, and access to tools, such as the company’s suite of healthcare information technologies and data analytics.
BCL services will transition to the Quest Diagnostics laboratory in Marlborough.
“Our acquisition of Boston Clinical Laboratories strengthens our ability to deliver our innovative, high value diagnostic services to patients and providers in the greater Boston metropolitan area,” Karthik Kuppusamy, Quest’s vice president, said in a statement.
Hossein Bayat, BCL’s COO, said that given increasing reimbursement pressures on labs, it is the right time for the company transition the business.
“Quest’s commitment to patient care, high-value innovation and deep local roots makes it the right organization to build on BCL’s vision of outstanding lab services that improve human health,” he said in a statement.
New Jersey-based Quest reported third-quarter revenues rose 3.5% year over year to $1.96 billion.
